There are common threads that run through all of our lives.  Wherever we live, whatever we do for a living.  Whatever our politics, our ethnicity, our religion.  We are all just people trying to make it through the ups and downs of daily life in the hope of creating something better for ourselves.

In an effort to make sense of all the things we experience along the way, we humans have invented this clever thing called art.  There are things about being alive that can’t be examined any other way.  Through art we understand ourselves, and each other, better than we ever could without it.

For me, songwriting has always been the form of expression that has resonated the strongest.  I grew up admiring the masters of the well-crafted song.  People who use their music to tell good stories and raise interesting questions.  I try to emulate their example by bringing sincerity and integrity to my own songwriting.  I search for that elusive blend of passion, intellect, and artistry.

I have spent a lifetime using the craft of songwriting as a tool to better understanding myself and the world around me.  By sharing my songs, I hope to entertain of course, but also to bring people together around that which we all share.
